Please welcome into the world: "CHuBB", the self-titled debut album of the Chunky Hustle Brass Band! After being nominated for Best New Artist by the San Diego Music Association in 2020, the band had the opportunity to channel their unique sound into this album. "CHuBB" features five original songs, some of Chunky Hustle's favorite covers, and interludes that give a closer look into the personality of the band.

The album was recorded in two phases. The first phase began in 2019 after some years of busking, playing at 7 Grand, and performing at protest marches and various music festivals. When traditional venues were shut down, Chunky Hustle began rehearsing in Balboa Park with the intent to get out and play music purely for each other. Eventually, those rehearsals morphed into a weekly concert series under the large fig tree at 6th & Laurel (the centerpiece of the album's cover). This gave them an opportunity to develop and share their music with San Diego. Chunky Hustle's current sound blends Street Funk, New Orleans brass band-inspired arrangements, a healthy sense of humor, and even a traditional or two into a positive, upbeat, and inclusive musical experience.
